For the chocolate frosting:
- ½ cup butter
- 1½ cups icing sugar

Method
- Start by preheating your oven to 180°C.
- Grease and line an 8 inch round cake tin with butter paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda.
- Sifting helps remove lumps and makes the cake lighter.
- In another bowl, whisk oil and sugar until well combined.
- Add vanilla essence.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Pour in milk gradually and mix gently until you get a smooth batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared tin and tap it lightly on the counter to remove air bubbles.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.

Preparing the Frosting
